Busy Rheumatology Practice is searching for a Medical Assistant, primarily in the infusion area at our Orland Park office with some travel to our Oakbrook Terrace office. We are looking for someone with excellent communication, people, and technology skills.

Job Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform tasks related to the entire patient infusion process (prior authorizations, benefit investigations, patient infusion scheduling, infusion assistance, patient follow-up, etc.).
  • Medication planning and preparation of infusion sheets for the nurse.
  • Maintain clean infusion and exam rooms.
  • Maintain infusion and clinical supplies inventory.
  • Contribute to the infusion billing process to optimize revenue capture and ensure timely revenue payments.
  • Ensure timely authorization of medications and scheduling of patients including outside referrals within 7-14 days.
  • Obtain vital signs and update medical histories within EMR.
  • Prepare blood draws and lab tests, as needed.
  • Transmit prescription refills as directed by the physician.
  • Reconciliation of results.
  • Document scanning and fax management.
  • Timely return of patient calls.
  • Understanding and complying with HIPAA policies and procedures.
  • Travel to Oakbrook Terrace is required.
  • Training you will be required to travel to our Schaumburg location 
  • Other duties as assigned.

 Qualifications:
  • At least 1 year of Medical Assistant office experience is required.
  • EMR experience is required (clinical work preferred) as well as proficiency in other applications.
  • Background in prior authorization experience preferred.
  • Must have excellent customer service, be a team player, be dependable, have phone etiquette, multitask, have organizational skills, and demonstrate excellent work ethics and professionalism.
