Warehouse Assistant - Lynchburg

Join a highly collaborative and talented team at one of the most respected charities in the area. The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank is seeking a full-time Warehouse Assistant for their Lynchburg, VA warehouse.  Duties involve activities associated with the receiving, storage and distribution of food products including packing orders, unloading deliveries, re-packing food products, operating warehouse equipment plus general maintenance and clean-up.   Position Requirements:
  • High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Warehouse distribution experience performing order picking duties.
  • Minimum of six months experience operating motorized equipment that includes operating forklifts and pallet jacks. Stand-up rider experience is a plus.
  •  Requires the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Successful applicant must have a valid VA driver’s license with a good driving record. 
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to work cooperatively with volunteers and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and with detail in an accurate manner.
  • Individual must have basic computer skills and the ability to learn new data applications.
 This role is full-time, based in the Lynchburg branch. The hours for this role are Monday-Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm.Blue Ridge Area Food Bank offers an effective and healthy work culture, competitive salary, and excellent benefits: health, dental, vision and generous Paid Time Off (PTO).
