Position Title: Workforce Youth Navigator

Division: Workforce Work Location: Florence - Covington, Kentucky

Supervisor: NKY Workforce Project Manager

The NKADD Workforce Division’s Mission is to drive innovative policy and direct funding for workforce investment through strong community partnerships to promote engaged employers, skilled jobseekers and collective impact.
This position will work with Youth participants (age 16-24 seeking employment), as well as partner with other agencies to help individuals achieve gainful employment while helping employers attract and retain the workforce needed to be successful. Work in all eight counties of the NKADD; Boone, Campbell, Carroll, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Owen, and Pendelton.

Responsibilities/Duties: 
  • Work with NKWIB (NK Workforce Investment Board) resources to reach employers within the NKY service counties to determine employers’ needs and match them to available participants.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services within our designated business data entry system (KIBES). Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services within KEE-Suite to track participants throughout their program journey.
  • Promote other NKADD programs while in the community and work with partner agencies.

  • Desired Minimum Qualifications: Any combination of training and experience which meets the desired knowledge, skills, and abilities. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of the concepts, theories, principles, and practices of manpower training and workforce development.
  • Clear and concise oral and writing communication skills.
  • Independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize diversified workload.
  • Strong knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software.
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential information. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact, and diplomacy.
  •  Ability to establish and maintain effective personal and consultive relationships with private business, federal, state, and local governmental agencies, other staff members, staff members of liaison organizations, and local government officials. 
  • Attention to detail in research and creation of reports and materials as well as establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriate.
  • Ability to prepare plans and reports in a neat, concise, and accurate manner and publicly deliver the information.

Special Position Requirements:
  • Occasional travel and off-site work.
  • Valid and Driver’s License required.
  • Occasional irregular hours.
  • Work Requirements:
  • Work is performed typically indoors in an office setting. It requires intermittent standing, sitting, or stooping. Work requires consistent use of the computer and phone system as well as other office equipment.
