Adelphi is seeking medical assistants to provide care to patients at a correctional facility in Henrico, Virginia. The ideal candidates will work in collaboration with the treatment team responsible for providing comprehensive substance use disorder services to the inmate population.

Requirements:
  • Current and valid Medical Assistant Certification

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the team providing substance use disorder services to inmates.
  • Verify outside prescriptions and treatments.
  • Provide assistance with lab work.
  • Ordering of medication.
  • Provide assistance as needed to the nurse practitioner, physician assistant or medical doctor in charge.
  • Collaborate efficiently with other staff and members of the treatment team.
  • Work effectively within a correctional setting, demonstrating professionalism and adherence to facility protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
