Surgical Scheduler Position at a Specialty Gynecology Office.

Surgical Care Coordinator:
  • Scheduling surgery at a Highly Specialized, World-Renowned Surgical Practice. 
  • Speaking with patients' about their insurance benefits vs self-pay option, etc. - knowledgeable about insurance and how it works - we are an out of network practice, so it is a lot of explaining to the patients, as many of them have only in-network received care.
  • Previous medical experience preferred.
  • Outstanding customer service is an absolute must.

We are a small practice, so although you will primarily be scheduling surgeries, you may have to answer general phone calls and help in other areas of the office as needed

Hours: Mon & Fri 7:00-3:30, Tues-Thurs 9:00-5:30

Responsibilities and Duties:
  • Schedule patients on our calendar, as well as call the hospital to schedule each surgical case.
  • Coordinate with other surgeons' offices when we need other specialties on our cases.
  • Typing up surgical packet to email to patients', as well as ensuring they understand their cost, and all consent forms are signed prior to surgery.
  • Cross-training on pre-operative consultation as a backup.
  • Running credit card payments and posting in the system.
  • Filing charts (as needed).
  • Checking email.
  • Prepping surgical charts (as needed).
  • Scheduling Appointments (as needed).
  • Answering phones and helping with other areas in the office (scheduling general appointments, taking payments, etc.)
  • Knowledge on how to submit for prior authorization in case patient needs it for surgery.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Fluent in Spanish Required

Benefits:
  • This position includes Medical and Dental insurance, eligible after 3 months of employment (employee only)
  • Practice will purchase two sets of scrubs for you to wear, with you needing to purchase one pair of black scrubs

  • PTO - 10 days off after start date, then an additional 5 days after 1st year, 20 days after 2 years, and 25 days after 5 years.
