We are looking for this person to be a leader in our High School CTE program and develop a fun, hands-on approach to learning

PURPOSE: To provide classroom instruction for Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Engineering Pathway courses and other CTE courses. The instructor will provide innovative and creative practices that are problem-based with real-world applications. Implementation of the PLTW Engineering resources is required.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Complete training requirements for PLTW courses (80 hours per course training).
  • Prepares course objectives and outlines following curriculum guidelines and requirements of PLTW.
  • Assign lessons, correct student work and provide students with positive feedback and constructive criticism on assignments.
  • Administer tests (including end-of-year PLTW assessment) to evaluate the progress of students and record results accordingly.
  • Maintain positive relationships with families through open communication.
  • Create a positive learning environment for students with rigorous standards.
  • Recognize student needs and differentiate instruction to assist students in obtaining the knowledge of the course guides.
  • Participate in assigned meetings and/or conferences to promote personal growth.
  • Serve on staff committees as assigned.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the administration.
  • Other duties may be assigned throughout the year based on school needs.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:
  • A four-year degree in a STEM-related field.
  • Completion of the 80-hour training per course of PLTW, or a willingness to complete this training. Our school will support this implementation. 
  • Experience with career and technical education is preferred.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in education or in a related Science or Math area.
