Café Leader – Tallahassee, FL

Lucky Goat Coffee is a specialty coffee production roaster based out of Tallahassee, Florida and making waves nationally. Since opening in 2010, Lucky Goat Coffee has continued to remain focused on the expansion of the brand through exceptional customer interactions and company specialization. 

The Café Leader role is an integral part of the Lucky Goat Coffee Café experience. This position is responsible for overseeing daily operations, cultivating an exceptional customer experience, and developing the next generation of coffee professionals. The Café Leader, along with the retail leadership team, set the standard for the Lucky Goat brand by always delivering on the company core values on being consistently consistent, focusing on clear communication, being better together as a team, continuing innovating through curiosity, and striving for accountability by actions. 

Our Café Leaders are paid a base hourly wage plus tips for an average of $22-26 per hour. 

Requirements:

• A minimum of three years of leadership experience, preferably in the food service or hospitality industries.
• Ability to prioritize conflicting demands focused on delivering solid and consistent business results.
• The ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly changing work environment for a minimum of 40 hours per week. 
• Proven management and organizational skills - with thoroughness and attention to detail.  
• Proven leadership and ability to work on own initiative without supervision.
• Ability to consistently exhibit high levels of discretion, integrity, and confidentiality.
• Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills and ability to influence others.
• Superb communication skills including effective listening, writing, and presenting; ability to express thoughts in a clear and concise manner.
• Demonstrated experience learning and thriving in a constantly changing environment and to cultivate relationships across teams.
• This position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Certified Food Safety Manager (preferred). 

 Job Description:

• Leader of the café customer experience. Ensuring all customers receive excellence in Lucky Goat products, services, and café environment. 
• Oversee daily café operations and workflow behind the bar. Ensuring the café team strengthens efficiencies and delivers excellence for each customer.  
• Cultivate a café environment (both internal and external) that is inviting, clean, and mirrors the Lucky Goat Coffee brand image. Assess facility conditions and take immediate action when needed to correct opportunities. 
• Lead café revenue growth and other business metrics year-over-year. Optimize every sales opportunity by ensuring the café team consistently executes Lucky Goat’s marketing and operational visions.
• Cultivate a culture that attracts and retains the highest quality of employees. Work in conjunction with the Café Area Director, Human Resource Director, and Education Department to assist with recruiting, onboarding, and developing high-caliber talent. Ensuring your café team has a strong, working knowledge of all Lucky Goat Coffees, café operations, etc.
• Partner with the Education Department and Café Area Director to continually bring continued education opportunities. Whether it be by way of coffee knowledge expanding or team building opportunities, we want a team focusing on growing together
• Oversee the café scheduling system to meet daily operational needs and seasonal demands. Ensuring café staff availabilities, time off requests, and unique needs don’t hinder the experience we strive to deliver for all café guests.
• Manage cash handling and loss prevention processes including being able to perform all POS duties and record tip allocation. 
• Maintain healthy inventory levels for daily operating needs focusing on the minimization of waste when applicable.
• Provide consistent communication and model the Lucky Goat standard of excellence to your café team. 
• Assist with investigating and effectively resolving customer service opportunities. Always focusing on our core values and delivering an exceptional experience for all guests. 
• Maintain high-quality standards of food and beverage preparation in accordance with Food Safety regulations. 

 The Cafe Leader directly reports to the Café Area Director within the Retail Leadership Team.
