Job Title: Welder
Summary: A Welder is vital to our success and is responsible for making the products we supply to our customers. The person in this role will work in a light-filled, state of the art manufacturing facility, together with a team of highly motivated and skilled team members; to build and assemble our award-winning proprietary product line.
Responsibilities: As a Welder you will:
  • Perform mig, tig, heli-arc, and acetylene welding operations of a diversified nature.
  • Weld, cut, bend and melt a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous material and alloys to fabricate parts in conformance with exacting requirements.
  • Interpret blue prints sketches and other specifications. 
  • Lay out and set-up work, determine operational sequence and devises suitable for holding fixtures. 
  • Select welding rids of appropriate size and composition, proper tips for gas welding and proper settings for gas welding. 
  • Utilize a variety of hand tools and equipment, and follow standardized sheets, drawings, samples and verbal instructions to build and weld within established Takt times and minimize scrap and rework. 
  • Check work and the work of other team members insuring all aspects of the welds are complete and correct. 
  • Provide team with sufficient information and support to accomplish team goals.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Properly use and maintain equipment and materials for which the role has responsibility. 
  • Support the Fab shop or other production team on an as needed basis.
  • Maintain quality standards and schedules.
  • Interface with engineering, supervisors, QC inspectors and co-workers.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

You’re a great fit for this position if this describes you;
  • Vocational, Trade or High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in welding of a diversified nature or appropriate certifications.
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings. 
  • Excellent and precise motor coordination.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing organization; low volume/high mix a plus.
  • Have knowledge of raw materials.
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs and stand for up to 10 to 12 hours per day if necessary.
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced, team environment, while responding and adapting to change favorably.
  • Safety is at the forefront of your mind and you follow all policies to promote a safe environment at United Safety. 
  • You bring with you a positive attitude and the ability to work cohesively in a team environment.
  • Help United Safety operate effectively by adhering to attendance and punctuality standards.
  •  Understand that you are part of a growing company, you have no concerns with and able to work extended hours/over-time as needed as well as some Saturdays to support that growth.
