Position Summary:
  • Perform repairs and preventative maintenance work focusing on drywall repair and paint to ensure hotel maintenance quality standards are achieved and maintained.
  • Perform and document preventive maintenance program according to brand standards.
  • Provide the highest quality of service to the guest at all times.
  • Ensure that all guest rooms are rentable on a daily basis.
  • Check and make repairs to plumbing systems and fixtures such as pipelines, toilets, and sinks, kitchen, and laundry equipment.
  • Check and make repairs to electrical systems such as lighting systems, television sets, and kitchen equipment.
  • Perform repairs to the building, furniture, bathrooms, guest rooms, etc., as needed; may perform painting tasks.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting and repair of HVAC equipment.
  • Conducting walk-throughs and assessing the safe and efficient maintenance and operation of the physical structure of the hotel, all mechanical, electrical, HVAC systems and any other related equipment.
  • Supervise, develop and maintain ongoing maintenance operation for hotel, including refrigeration, heating, plumbing, water treatment, preventive maintenance, hotel rooms, A/H units, ice machines, pools, lighting, kitchen equipment, emergency generators, water softeners, switch rooms, roof exhausts, electrical substations, etc.
  • Ensure that all projects, routine maintenance, repairs, and replacement projects are completed in a timely fashion and according to brand standard and all applicable build codes.
  • Obtain and present cost-effective proposals for maintaining or repairing all systems throughout the hotel.
  • Perform guest response and preventive maintenance work orders as necessary.
  • Schedule work in accordance with preventive maintenance program in rooms and public space with all other departments to ensure limited guest impact.
  • Ensure that all Life Safety equipment and systems are inspected, tested and certified per code and any applicable brand standards.
  • Assessing critical situations (fire, natural disasters, major mechanical malfunctions, etc.) and facilitating an immediate and appropriate response.
  • Maintaining effective preventative maintenance and work order programs.
  • Organize materials, tools and equipment to perform daily assignments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area at all times.
  • Maintain the proper use, cleaning, maintenance, and storage of all tools.
  • Handle chemicals for designated uses/surfaces in accordance with Safety Data Sheets.
  • Ensure key security program is in place and adhered to.
  • Ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and that preventive maintenance measures are performed to preserve the hotel and keep product quality to standard.
  • Respond in a courteous manner to guest questions, complaints and/or requests to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Respond in a timely manner to all work orders.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds; push and pull 50 pounds.
  • Practice safety standards at all times and be alert to hazardous conditions. Report or correct any hazardous conditions immediately.
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with the Employee Handbook. The employee must adhere to all work rules, procedures, and policies established by the company, including but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.
  • Wear proper uniform at all times in accordance with the Standards of Appearance.
  • Other duties as assigned, of which the employee is capable of performing.
  • Will be asked to train new employees
  • Must have a positive attitude

Requirements:
  • Candidates must have the work permit and proper paperwork to be employed in the US. 
  • Knowledge of standard practices in the maintenance and repair of mechanical and electrical components.
  • High school diploma or GED and 5 years of experience in the area of maintenance.
  • Hospitality experience is preferred.
  • Basic Computer skills required to include processing emails, basic spreadsheet manipulation, and database/systems navigation including familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, and Word).
  • Must have knowledge of: Methods, and materials used in general building maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, building and electrical units and HVAC.
  • Must possess or have the ability to obtain a certified pool operator license.
  • Willing to work all shifts including weekends, holidays, and evenings.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to access confined spaces.
  • Supervisory: 3 years (Preferred).
  • Mechanic Experience (i.e.: motors, pumps, chillers, etc.): 5 years (Preferred).
  • HVAC, plumbing, electrical and General Maintenance: 5 years (Preferred).
