The electrical maintenance mechanics are responsible for the installation and repair of all production machinery electrical and electronic systems and the installation and repair of facility electrical systems. Responsible for following all safety and quality procedures. Refer new and unusual situations to the Maintenance Manager

Salary: $26.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:
  • 8-hour shift
  • Monday to Friday

Responsibilities :
  • Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
  • Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables
  • Tests malfunctioning machinery discusses malfunction with maintenance mechanics and recommends course of action
  • Diagnoses, repairs, and/or replaces faulty electronic components such as printed circuit boards
  • Replaces electric motor bearings and rewires motors
  • Plans layout of wiring and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings
  • Cross-trained to perform mechanical maintenance.
  • Uses and drives forklift
  • Performs other building maintenance duties such as plumbing and carpentry
  • Performs daily housekeeping duties to keep the work area clean and remove safety hazards
  • Performs other duties as required

Qualifications :
  • Associate Degree or Technical Certificate in machinery electrical and electronic operating systems and building electrical systems
  • 2+ years experience in a manufacturing environment as a maintenance electrician
  • Must have interpersonal skills necessary to foster cooperation and to effectively communicate with others.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics of machinery, peripheral equipment, and facilities
  • Must possess a current industrial truck certification.
Working Environment :
  • Physical Demands: Often heavy, physical demands including stooping, crawling, bending, and climbing. Must be able to push, pull, and lift to 100 lbs (?) routinely
  • Visual, Hearing, and Dexterity Demands: Must have normal hearing. Must have normal visual acuity with the ability to distinguish colors and depth perception
  • Working Conditions: Noisy and dusty environment. Can be subject to variations in heat normal for a non-air conditioned manufacturing environment. May be subject from time to time to outside elements
