POSITION SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Worker is primarily responsible for clubhouse, facility and equipment maintenance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Maintain and make general repairs furniture, appliances, plumbing fixtures, woodwork, electrical systems and building structures of the club.
  • Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Be knowledgeable of and always comply with the Club’s standards, policies and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
  • Conduct routine inspections of premises and equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that building systems operate efficiently.
  • Assist in diagnosing mechanical issues and correct as directed.
  • Repair machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
  • Clean, paint, patch walls and repair building fixtures including lights, locks, windows, doors, walls, floors, etc.
  • Operate and perform routine maintenance and repairs of HVAC equipment, refrigerators, ice makers, pool pumps and other related systems.
  • Attend staff meetings.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by management.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • One year maintenance experience in a business setting.
  • Related degree from a technical school.
  • Demonstrated experience performing routine maintenance.
  • Possess an eye for detail.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and power tools and ability to use common tools such as hammers, saws, drills and wrenches.
  • Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
  • Strong organizational, follow-up and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated results oriented and capable of working with minimal direction and independently.

TYPICAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Able to meet and perform physical requirements and to work effectively in an environment which is typical of this position.
  • Be physically able to reach, pull, bend, stoop and lift.
  • Able to enter and exit a golf cart.
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately.
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure.
  • Must be effective in listening to, understanding, and clarifying the concerns and issues raised by members and their guests.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work is performed in an outdoor setting. Varied weather conditions are expected with exposure to heat/humidity, or cool/cold weather, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles or caustic chemicals. Varying schedule to include weekdays, weekends and holidays.
