Armed Security Officer

Under indirect supervision, the Armed Security Officer position patrols the Cobbly Nob Property to ensure the protection and safety of owners, visitors, and guests along with the association property. Serve as a first responder for medical and fire for the Cobbly Nob community.
Responsibilities include:
- Contact emergency responders, such as law enforcement, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, and assist first responders.
- Respond to calls from homeowners or visitors as needed.
- Direct Traffic in Emergencies.
- Remain alert for the presence of an unauthorized person and/or security code violators approaching suspicious persons and/or notify law enforcement as appropriate; may confront and identify violators, as required until law enforcement arrives.
- Monitors and operates surveillance equipment as required.
- Patrols assigned areas on foot or in a motor vehicle.
- Examines doors, windows, pools, parking lots, and gates.
- Enforces and warns violators of rule infractions, such as but not limited to speeding, parking, loud noise, careless use of fire, fireworks, trespass, discharge of firearms, baiting of wild animals, and improper storage.
- Performs periodic checks or tests of emergency equipment, streetlights, fire sirens, and surveillance monitoring equipment to ensure proper function and reports malfunctions as required.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Prior security, Law Enforcement, or military experience is a plus.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Must have a valid Tennessee Armed Security Guard license.
- Ability to communicate effectively with others both orally and written.
- Ability to walk and climb stairs, and mountain roads and traverse over uneven terrain.
- Ability to walk/stand for extended periods.
- Ability to work outside in extreme weather conditions.
- Ability to see and hear accurately in both day and nighttime conditions.
- Ability to comprehend numerous policies, procedures, and concepts and to be able to respond using discretion and interpretive judgment based on general and specific policies outlined in the post orders.
- Ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to react appropriately in emergencies.
- CPR/AED, First-Aid certification.
- Dallas's Law training is compliant.
- Knowledge of radio procedures and operations.
- Pass drug screening and appropriate background checks.
- Must have current Tennessee Armed Security license.
