Manufacturing Associate-Cabling

- Safely work around and with equipment, handle materials and follow established manufacturing protocols/procedures.
- Monitor extrusion line(s) while running to ensure quality/timely production of cables.
- Perform required quality checks to ensure cables are manufactured to quality specifications.
- Demonstrate proficiency in handling of all required testing equipment (calipers, OD tape, etc.).
- Meet daily output and quality requirements.
- Track and minimize scrap results.
- Read and understand flowcharts and documents.
- Ability to distinguish color visually,
- Maintain overall efficiency rates.
- Record and document all Production and Quality Control/Quality Notification data.
- Accurately complete SAP transactions.
- Manufacturing cables in accordance with the Kanban.
- Communicate with shift Team Leader on daily production goals.
- Proactively report any production shortfalls, quality nonconformances, and equipment issues swiftly.
- Perform machine startups and changeovers as required.
- May be required to perform weekly Preventative Maintenance.
- Loading and unloading of materials as needed (Lift up to 50lbs).
- Work in a team environment with coworkers to maximize output.
- Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to company 6S standards.
- Operate Hydrogen/Oxygen hand torches and burners, extruders or other high temperature processes within safety guidelines and training specifications.
- Transfer materials in various stages of assembly using proper carts or lifts, and with techniques as trained from Standard Operating procedures.
- Accurate record keeping
- Comply with all applicable OSHA regulated safety procedures and ISO14001 EMS guidelines and ALL mandatory Personal Protection Equipment.
- Ensure all product meets requirements as defined by the Plant’s Quality Management Systems
- Assist in handling materials safely as a team. Minimum requirements to lift and/carry 50 lbs. routinely throughout 12 hours shift with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Attend Tier 1 turnover meetings on every shift and communication meetings as scheduled.
- Ability to obtain certification after completion of training and evaluation.
- Must Champion exceptional housekeeping & 5S in all areas of the facility and shop floor.
- Ability to stoop, bend at the waist, stand, and sit as needed to reach product while working (up to 12 hours)
- Ability to have full range of motion in shoulders, arms, hands, and fingers for manipulation of product and work equipment.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. on your own.
- Material handling (roll buffer reels up to 200lbs, roll GRP up to 800 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation.)
- Maintain organization or materials, products, chemicals, parts, mechanical equipment, production areas, etc.
- Must comply with all safety, PPE, and regulatory requirements deemed necessary by position.
- Willingness to cross train in different areas of the facility as based on the needs of the business.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or a member of management.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Welding experience, a plus.
- Ability to pass the Work Keys testing with a Silver or above at hire.
- Must be able to successfully complete the background check and pre-employment drug testing.
- Safety conscious
- Able to read a metric ruler and other measuring devices, perform basic mathematical calculations and conversions.
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to Detail and Quality orientated.
- Able to think quickly and safely.
- Ability to multi-task safely and accurately
- Based on the safety requirements for the position, operator must be able to safely maneuver in all functions of the position without assistance (unless approved through compliance review and supporting medical documentation under ADAA law).
