The Shipping and Receiving Associate plays a crucial role in the efficient operation of our warehouse. This position is responsible for managing the movement of goods in and out of the warehouse, ensuring that all shipments are accurately received, documented, and dispatched. This role reports directly to the Warehouse/Logistics Supervisor. **Please be prepared for cross-training through the general warehouse based on the needs of the company.

Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
  • Receiving:
    • Inspect and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
    • Unload trucks and containers, utilizing forklifts or other equipment as necessary.
    • Report any discrepancies or damages to the warehouse supervisor.

  • Shipping:
    • Pick and prepare/wrap orders for shipment according to customer specifications.
    • Ensure all shipments are accurately labeled and documented.
    • Load trucks for outgoing deliveries.

  • Inventory Management:
    • Maintain accurate inventory records promptly.
    • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile them with records.
    • Organize and store products in the warehouse in an orderly manner.

  • Quality Control:
    • Inspect products for defects or damages before shipping.
    • Ensure all products meet quality standards before dispatch.
    • Maintain dock checks and ensure the area is clear and safe.

  • Safety and Maintenance:
    • Operate warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts) safely and efficiently.
    • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Documentation:
    • Complete all necessary documentation for shipping and receiving activities.
    • Maintain accurate records of all transactions.

Expected and Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous warehouse or logistics experience preferred.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory management and documentation.
  • Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs +).
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and external partners.
  • Problem-solving abilities to handle discrepancies or unexpected issues.
  • Time management skills to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Warehouse setting with potential exposure to varying temperatures.
  • Physical work involves lifting, standing, and moving for extended periods.
  • Use of personal protective equipment as required.
