SAP BRIM Architect

Location: Remote (US Based)

Employment Type: Full-Time or Contract 

Job Overview:The SAP BRIM Architect will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing SAP Billing and Revenue Innovation Management (BRIM) solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of end-to-end subscription management, order-to-cash processes, and revenue recognition. The SAP BRIM Architect will collaborate with business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors to ensure that BRIM solutions are aligned with the company's strategic goals and drive efficiency in billing, invoicing, and revenue management systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Solution Design & Architecture: 
  • Lead the design and architecture of SAP BRIM (Billing and Revenue Innovation Management) modules, including Subscription Order Management (SOM), Convergent Charging (CC), Convergent Invoicing (CI), and Contract Accounting (FI-CA).
  • Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions within the SAP BRIM framework.
  • Define and develop scalable architecture for billing and revenue systems to support high transaction volumes.
Implementation & Configuration:
  • Oversee the implementation of BRIM solutions, including system integration, configuration, and customization.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for configuring BRIM components and aligning with existing enterprise systems (e.g., SAP ERP, SAP S/4HANA).
  • Collaborate with technical teams to implement enhancements, custom reports, workflows, and integrations. 
Business Process Analysis:
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business needs in billing, subscription management, and revenue recognition processes.
  • Design efficient processes for subscription lifecycle management, order management, pricing, and billing scenarios.
  • Ensure smooth integration with financial and accounting modules, ensuring compliance with accounting standards (e.g., IFRS 15). 
Project Management & Delivery:
  • Lead the BRIM implementation projects, including scoping, planning, executing, and delivering within defined timelines and budgets.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, sales, and IT, to deliver successful BRIM projects.
  • Manage third-party vendors and consultants during the implementation and support phases. 
Optimization & Support:
  • Continuously optimize SAP BRIM processes to improve system performance and user experience.
  • Provide post-implementation support, including system monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving complex issues.
  • Stay updated on SAP BRIM advancements and recommend relevant upgrades or changes
Governance & Compliance:
  • Ensure that solutions are compliant with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, SOX, and other relevant standards.
  • Establish governance practices to monitor and control billing data accuracy and reporting.
 
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  •  SAP BRIM certification is preferred.
Technical Skills:
  • Proven experience (8+ years) in SAP Billing and Revenue Innovation Management (BRIM) architecture and implementation.
  • Hands-on expertise in SAP BRIM components: SOM, CC, CI, FI-CA, and integration with SAP ERP/S4HANA.
  • Strong knowledge of billing, subscription models, revenue recognition, and order-to-cash processes.
  •  Experience with integration technologies (SAP PI/PO, Web Services, IDoc, APIs) and cloud solutions.
  • Proficiency in SAP FICA (Financial Contract Accounting), AR (Accounts Receivable), and SAP SD (Sales and Distribution).
  • Solid understanding of pricing, discounting, invoicing, and contract management concepts. 
Business Acumen:
  • Experience in industries with subscription-based business models such as telecom, utilities, or software.
  • Strong understanding of financial, accounting, and tax regulations related to billing and revenue recognition.
  • Ability to translate complex business needs into scalable SAP BRIM solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • SAP BRIM or SAP Convergent Charging Certification.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and cloud-based SAP solutions.
  • Knowledge of adjacent SAP modules like CRM, SAP SD (Sales and Distribution), and Hybris Billing.
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
