Job Responsibilities:Equipment Operation
- Operate and maintain CT scanning equipment, ensuring proper functionality and adherence to safety protocols.
- Prepare and position patients for CT scans, explaining procedures and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Conduct CT scans to produce detailed cross-sectional images of patients' anatomy for diagnostic purposes.
- Follow strict safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients, staff, and self. Use shielding techniques as appropriate.
- Analyze obtained images for quality and accuracy, recognizing artifacts and ensuring the necessary views are captured.
- Maintain accurate patient records, documenting procedures, and ensuring proper data entry into electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to discuss imaging results and contribute to patient diagnoses.
- Participate in quality assurance and control activities, ensuring equipment calibration and image quality meet established standards.
- Stay current with advancements in CT technology, attend relevant workshops, and participate in continuing education to maintain certifications and enhance skills.
- Educate patients about CT procedures, address concerns, and provide post-scan instructions.
- CT Techs are responsible for ensuring compliance with CA DPH regulations and adhering to the rules and regulations of the assigned hospitals and/or clinics. This encompasses maintaining licensures, participating in required training, and overseeing tasks such as retrieving medical records to uphold regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum one year experience as a CT technologist in a hospital
- Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in Radiologic Technology
- American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) (R)(CT)
- California Dept. of Public Health (CRT)
- California Dept. of Public Health Fluoroscopy Permit
- Venipuncture Certificate
- Current CPR Card issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- Must have proof of MMR, Varicella vaccinations, or titers.
- Must have Proof of TB/PPD or Chest X-ray within the past 12 Months
- Current Annual Health Clearance
