Occupational Therapist

Position Overview:
- 2 days a week, 6 morning hours per day, OR 3 days a week, 4 morning hours per day.
- Our company provides physical and occupational therapy to low-income, frail elderly clients who live in the community, to prevent them from further deterioration that leads to hospital and nursing home admission.
- Therapists will be working with registered nurses and social workers as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a creative, caring, laid-back environment.
- The work is not physically demanding (i.e. no max assist transfer patients) and you are not under pressure to meet a daily patient quota.
Responsibilities:
- Consulting with patients to learn about their physical condition.
- Assessing and interpreting patient evaluations and test results.
- Developing treatment plans using a variety of treatment techniques.
- Creating personalized fitness-oriented health care programs for patients.
- Administering medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve mobility.
- Advising patients on exercise techniques.
Requirements:
- Compliant with state regulatory requirements.
- A valid license to practice physical therapy.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Compassionate and attentive to detail.
- Possess up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices.
- Ability to solve problems independently.
- Excellent analytical and logical thinking.
