HPC-Industrial powered by Clean Harbors is looking for an Explosives Supervisor out of Pueblo West CO to join their safety conscious team The Explosives Technician is responsible for the safe and proper execution of HPC-Industrial jobs.

Must be approved through a Federal/State background for explosives work.

Essential Duties:
  • Secures customer orders for HPC that achieve revenue targets through direct selling, focusing on solutions that add value to their respective businesses, developing strategies that focus on their bottom- line performance.
  • Develops sales plans that support profitable revenue objectives.
  • Primary liaison between customer and HPC operations in resolving service issues
  • Monitors account activity to ensure that defined customer key performance indicators (KPIs) are met
  • Cultivates quality relationships laterally and above primary contact to retain clients and win referrals to new clients
  • Demonstrates business acumen, cultivating a network with the result of earning the respect to be viewed as a trusted business advisor.
  • Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
  • Supports customers during the implementation of contracts and throughout the relationship; seeking customer feedback; taking responsibility for customer satisfaction and/or loyalty.
  • Performs effective communication of account activity and requirements with all support staff to ensure account services are maintained at the highest level.
  • Develops, presents and executes sales and marketing plans for each existing account.
  • Coordinates, organizes and presents business reviews and planning meetings as specified by the contact schedule specified for each account.
  • May transport personnel and/or equipment including explosives.
  • Responsible for safety policies and procedures of both the company and the customer, including hands-on information regarding operations, safety, equipment, emergency response and administrative functions.
  • Adheres to all safety procedures and complies with safety processes.
  • Inventories, stores and maintains supplies, tools and equipment.
  • May set up staging area and/or work site.
  • May review boiler tube thickness before blasting begins.
  • Performs outside pole blasting operations.
  • Conducts wrapping operation.
  • Calculates, fabricates and uses explosive charges.
  • Maintains safe separation distance of explosive components.
  • May assign tasks for radio operations and utilization.
  • An Explosives Supervisor may assign tasks to the team.
  • An Explosives Supervisor may oversee other Explosive Technicians
  • An Explosives Supervisor may fabricate explosive charges and set-ups.
  • An Explosives Supervisor may instruct other technicians in the fabrication of charges and set-ups, setting up staging and work area.
  • An Explosives Supervisor secures explosives and equipment and keeps accountability for explosives in staging area and work site.
  • An Explosives Supervisor may review plant safety and notification procedures and relay information to team.
  • An Explosives Supervisor will plan and direct staging and work areas and ensure adjacent work areas are properly monitored.
  • An Explosives Supervisor will obtain permission from client to begin explosive operations after all notifications are completed.
  • Performs other tasks as needed.

Skills and Experience:
  • Seven years industrial cleaning environment with 3-5 years project management experience; prefer project management experience to include but not limited to management of bid proposal to the successful execution of the project.
  • Proven ability to operate, maintain and troubleshoot required equipment. Prior project management/supervisory experience with proven leadership skills.
  • Ability to research, plan & follow-up leads to secure business.
  • Proven well developed teamwork and collaboration skills including strong verbal and written communication, presentation, and team facilitation.
  • Must be well versed in technical writing and verbal communication.
  • Must posses excellent interpersonal skills to build positive relationships and handle conflict resolution.
  • Has the ability to develop solutions to resolve account problems.
  • Excellent analytical, planning and organization skills.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Military experience a plus.
  • Trained in Fall Protection; Confined Space Entry; certified for Hole Watch and Entrant responsibilities; Lockout/Tagout;
  • First Aid/CPR; Hazard Communication
  • Respiratory Protection (including fit test and medical clearance)
  • Explosives license in the state of residence
  • Valid driver license and other requirements of company’s driving policy required when driving company vehicle or using personal vehicle on company business.
  • CDL with Hazmat endorsement may be required.
  • Language proficiency: understand English at a level to comprehend safety training and respond to instructions in emergency situations.
  • Must be knowledgeable in the operation of emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers. 
Educational Requirements:.
  • Two-year technical degree with 3-5 years in industrial cleaning experience or equivalent experience; prefer BS in related field.
