Position Overview:
We are seeking a qualified Medical Front Office Administrator with a minimum of one year of experience in a medical office setting, preferably in primary care. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of insurance processes, including Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance. Experience with Athenahealth One software is preferred but not required. This role is essential to ensuring smooth and efficient front office operations, contributing to a positive patient experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome and register patients, ensuring the accurate completion of all required documentation.
- Answer incoming calls and efficiently schedule appointments.
- Coordinate and schedule patient appointments, while efficiently managing the office calendar.
- Verify insurance coverage and process prior authorizations as necessary.
- Address patient inquiries and resolve concerns with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain and manage patient records, ensuring strict adherence to HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with medical staff to facilitate smooth patient care and optimize office operations.
- Execute general administrative duties, including answering phones, managing faxes, and organizing files.
- Minimum of one year of experience in a medical office setting, primary care preferred.
- Strong knowledge of insurance processes (Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance).
- Experience with Athenahealth One software is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of organization and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills and medical office software.
