We serve military, medical, academic and government clients by administering, managing and supporting preeminent scientific programs that benefit members of the armed forces and civilians alike. HJF's support and administrative capabilities allow military medical researchers and clinicians to maintain their scientific focus and accomplish their research goals. This position will be in support of the Uniformed Services University Department of Surgery. Enhancing Warfighter Survivability by Investing in Military Medicine Surgical Team Skills program. This program will develop simulated environments that place team members in operative environments to evaluate the team dynamics and behaviorswith the goal of increasingteam synchrony and resiliency. Simulation teams will be composed of Surgeon, Anesthesia attending/Fellow, Surgical Resident, Circulating Nurse, Scrub Tech. Teams will be assessed by a team of trained researchers utilizing the developed performance tools. HJF is seeking a Program Coordinator to provide administrative project oversight of a narrower scope under the direction of a supervisor. Coordinates budget and accounting, space management, recruitment management, and purchasing. Completes more routine tasks independently and relies on guidance from higher Staff levels for more complex tasks. Note: This work site requires that Non-US Citizen incumbents have lived in the US three out of the past five years. 
Responsibilities:

  • Under supervision, ensures the terms and conditions of the award / funding vehicle are adhered. Assists in ensuring all required reports are completed and submitted on time.
  • Monitors study performance, analyses, and reviews results, and assists with development and implementation of new protocols.
  • Assist in preparing for simulation training (reserve simulation environment, prepare equipment, and order cadavers)
  • Communicates with internal staff and external customers. Negotiates with vendors and obtains quotes for equipment.
  • Provides administrative support under the direction of a supervisor such as recruiting, purchasing, and tracking progress.
  • Assists in overseeing and managing collection, maintenance, analysis, and evaluation of data used in grant submissions, presentations, and publications.
  • Assist in recruit surgical staff that will participate in simulation training.
  • Assist and track travel reservations for participating HJF and surgical staff.
  • May include budgetary responsibility to include plan/forecast.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor. This may include attendance of and participation in required training for role.
 Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of organizational objectives, the federal budget process, office automation.
  • Ability to work completely independently, use sound judgement in solving problems.
  • Coordinate many complex systems and programs simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of project management principles, and good communications skills.
 Supervisory Responsibilities:
  •  Assigned Lead: May recommend the following: employee hiring, disciplinary action, and starting salaries; provide input on employee performance evaluations.

 Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum of 0 - 2 years experience required
