Responsibilities:
- Electrical Installations: Perform high-quality electrical installations in residential homes and commercial establishments. This includes wiring, outlets, lighting fixtures, circuit breakers, switches, and other electrical components as per local electrical codes and regulations.
- Repairs and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently and effectively. Troubleshoot electrical systems, identify faults, and implement appropriate solutions to restore functionality and safety.
- Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance of electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and prevent potential problems. Inspect existing installations, perform routine checks, and replace or repair faulty components as needed.
- Compliance and Safety: Adhere to all safety guidelines, codes, and regulations while performing electrical work. Ensure compliance with local, state, and national electrical codes to guarantee safe and reliable electrical systems.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to plan and execute electrical installations and repairs accurately.
- Communication: Interact with clients and team members professionally, providing clear explanations of work performed and addressing any questions or concerns regarding electrical systems.
- Up-to-Date Knowledge: Stay informed about industry trends, advancements, and changes in electrical codes to continuously improve skills and remain compliant with industry standards.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by delivering prompt and reliable electrical solutions to meet clients' needs and exceed their expectations.
- Tools and Equipment: Utilize and maintain various hand and power tools, testing equipment, and safety gear necessary for electrical work.
- Recordkeeping: Document all work performed, including installations, repairs, and maintenance, accurately and promptly. Maintain organized records of materials used and time spent on each project.
Qualifications:
- Journeyman Electrician: It is not required but holding a valid journeyman electrician certification from the State of New Jersey will be taken into consideration for hourly rate. Demonstrating completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship program and/or required on-the-job experience.
- Experience: A minimum of 5-8 years of relevant experience in residential and commercial electrical work is preferred.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of electrical systems, wiring, circuitry, and equipment. Familiarity with local and national electrical codes and safety standards.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve electrical issues efficiently.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and team members.
- Physical Fitness: The ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Time Management: Capable of managing multiple tasks and prioritizing projects to meet deadlines.
- Safety Consciousness: A strong commitment to safety practices and ensuring a safe working environment for oneself and others.
- Adaptability: Willingness to work in different environments, adapt to new challenges, and collaborate with diverse teams.
