Job Title: Special Education Teacher.
Location: The Learning Center by Theracare.
Job Type: 1099 contract position for year around Special Education teaching support.

Position Overview: We seek a passionate and experienced Special Education Teacher for our kindergarten through second-grade students. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to high-level individualized education, a background in working with support staff and therapies, and a specific interest in or experience with dyslexic reading support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement Yearly Learning Plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with parents and therapists to integrate and support students. 
  • Provide direct instruction to students in small group 1:3-1:4or individual settings, utilizing a variety of teaching strategies and techniques.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting instruction to ensure academic growth and development.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on student performance and progress.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers to provide updates on student progress and to collaborate on strategies for support.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in special education and dyslexic reading support.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in special education or a related field.
  • State certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with kindergarten through second-grade students.
  • Strong understanding of various disabilities and their educational implications.
  • Experience collaborating with support staff, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other related service providers.
  • Knowledge of or experience with dyslexic reading support and interventions is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
