The Weighmaster or Scale Operator position is responsible for appropriately weighing and recording all loads that come across the scale. This includes retail and industrial customers; outbound loads and internal weights needed by Concrete Recycling operations.
PAY:$15/HR. (50-55 HOURS A WEEK) 6 AM START TIME MONDAY-FRIDAY
LOCATION: BAYTOWN

Essential Functions:
The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.
  • Accurately and effectively operate the truck scale to ensure all incoming and outgoing trucks are weighed, documented and load information is verified.
  • Prepare packing slips for outbound loads.
  • Ensure truck scale is reading accurately and request scale calibrations outside of the normal calibration schedule, when necessary.
  • Learn and correctly identify various types of ferrous and non-ferrous materials and provide appropriate guidance and direction to customers based on the type of materials they have.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Assist customers at the counter, as needed.
  • Assist dispatch personnel in dispatching, where needed,
  • Perform administrative office tasks, as needed.
Education and Experience Required:
  • High School Diploma or the equivalent combination of experience and education.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with internal and external customers, including co-workers, clients, and the public effectively and professionally.
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple transactions or tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to effectively manage your own time and competing demands and interruptions.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Prior scale experience.
  • Concrete Recycling process knowledge

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 – 55 per week

  • Weigh Scale: 2 years (Required)
  • Scale Operator: 2 years (Required)

  • English (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:
  • Baytown, TX 77523: Relocate before starting work (Required)
