Material Handler/Mill Room Shim Operator

About the Job

Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Temporary or Temporary to Hire status to be determined in accordance with the current Collective bargaining Agreement.

Transport, store, pull, load and unload products required for workshops, printing/ assembly needs or stock replenishment.

Duties: 
  • Check production cells for status of orders being produced.
  • Operate computer and create picklists for components needed.
  • Pull and transport components needed/ requested.
  • Return extra components to warehouse and properly store.
  • Remove finished goods from department and stage.
  • Organize orders.
  • Complete all paperwork assigned, verify and count all finished goods.
  • Meet inventory needs.
  • May be required to drive company box truck to transport materials between buildings.
  • Operate radio frequency scans to maintain accurate inventory levels and storage locations.
  • Operate IQMS system to gather relevant job info.
  • Perform cycle counts.
  • Inspect material handling equipment for defects.
  • Operate powered industrial trucks (sit down lifts, reach trucks and walkrides) to move materials to and from locations.
  • Adheres to traffic safety program along with all other safety policies.
  • Enforces outside driver safety policies.
  • Makes sanitation a day-to-day practice ensuring SQF guidelines are followed.
  • Restack leaning boxes and replace damaged boxes or pallets.
  • May be required to work overtime.
  • Weigh ingredients to correct amounts, add to pre-weighed compound ingredients to be mixed in HF 20L or 5L mixer and/or mill. 
  • Set up and operate a variety of machines and other related equipment to manufacture metal component parts to drawing specifications. 
  • Ability to perform tasks that involve a reasonable level of noise while being provided with proper personal protective equipment. 
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and quality while remaining on task to enable meeting expected production output which often requires performing repetitive production operations. Keep the work area clean and orderly. Perform other similar and related duties.
