Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Generator Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of generators to ensure reliable power supply for our clients. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:Maintenance:
- Perform routine maintenance on generators, including oil changes, filter replacements, and system checks.
- Develop and follow preventive maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance and longevity of equipment.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot generator malfunctions and failures.
- Replace or repair defective parts and components as needed.
- Test and verify repairs to ensure proper operation.
- Conduct regular inspections of generators and associated systems to identify potential issues or safety hazards.
- Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports and recommendations.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing client concerns and answering questions regarding generator performance and maintenance.
- Offer recommendations for upgrades or replacements as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of all service activities, including repairs, maintenance, and parts used.
- Complete and submit service reports in a timely manner.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines while performing duties.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Participate in on-call rotations for emergency repairs
- Communicate with inside staff regarding the status of work orders.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or training in generator systems or related field preferred.
- Experience:
- Proven experience as a Generator Technician or similar role.
- Experience with various types and brands of generators.
- Skills:
- Strong technical knowledge of generator systems, including diesel and gas engines.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment and the ability to read technical schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently.
- Certifications:
- Relevant certifications (e.g. Generator, EPA certification, electrical or mechanical trade certifications) are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and tools, up to 50+ lbs.
- Capable of working in various environmental conditions.
- Comfortable with extended periods of standing, kneeling, and bending.
Additional Information:
- Valid Driver's License.
- Clean driving record.
- Clearance, is helpful but not necessary.
- Strong organizational skills, time management, attention to detail, and the ability to multi-task.
- Self-motivated and a willingness to learn quickly and take initiative.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Have your own tools.
- Able to use a computer for basic tasks.
- Uniform required.
