Awnings & Shades Sewist

Position Overview:The Sewist will play a crucial role in our production process. The ideal fit is responsible for sewing and assembling fabric components to create durable and visually appealing awnings and shades using a variety of materials. This role’s work will directly impact the quality and longevity of the company’s products.
Specific Duties:

• Fabric cutting and preparation to include measuring and cutting fabric panels according to project specifications and preparing fabric edges for sewing by serging or hemming.
• Operate industrial sewing machines to stitch fabric pieces together while ensuring consistent stitch quality and alignment.
• Seam awning panels, valances, and other components. Attach zippers, grommets, and other hardware as needed.
• Inspect finished awnings for defects, ensuring they meet our standards. Address any sewing irregularities promptly.
• Customize orders based on client requests (e.g., adding logos, adjusting dimensions). Perform alterations, repairs, and adjustments as necessary.
• Work closely with the installation team to ensure seamless installation of awnings. Communicate any design or production challenges to the team.
• Keep track of fabric inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized sewing area.

Education and/or Experience :

• 2+ years of industrial sewing experience or relevant experience required.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds, without help, multiple times per day
