SUMMARY:

Prepares clear, complete and accurate working plans and detail drawings from rough or detailed sketches or notes by performing the following:

JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts of whole structure or project.
  • Utilizes knowledge of various machines, manufacturing processes, engineering practices, mathematics, fabrication materials, and other physical sciences to complete drawings.
  • Makes any adjustments or changes necessary as required.
  • Draws charts for presentation of statistical data.
  • Draws finished designs from sketches.
  • Uses computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment and software. (Autocad and/or Solidworks)
As necessary, performs other related duties of which the above are representative.
Management must contact the Human Resource department of adding to or changing a significant number of duties.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND TRAINING:
  • Associates Degree or Equivalent.
MINIMUM DIRECTLY RELATED JOB EXPERIENCE:
  • Previous experience with CAD Drafting and One (1) year in Engineering Department.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
  • High mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of CAD equipment and MIL-STD drawings.
  • Knowledge of quality control.
  • Knowledge of Military Specifications.
  • Ability to interact with a group of coworkers.
  • Ability to work with complex equipment.
  • Ability to establish procedures.
  • Ability to work in a production oriented environment.
  • Ability to work under frequent changing priorities.
  • Ability to select and evaluate priorities.
  • Ability to read and comprehend documentation written in the English language.
  • Problem solving and decision making skills.
