DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operates radiologic equipment to produce images for procedure guidance under the supervision of the physician
• Takes precautions to minimize staff and patient exposure to radiation 
• Assists in radiology quality assurance and quality improvement activities 
• Effectively communicates with patients, family, and other healthcare team members 
• Sets up procedure rooms including equipment and supplies 
• Participates in performance improvement data collection 
• Follows all safety requirements of the facility per policy under the direction of the Governing Board 
• Practices radiation protection techniques using restrictive devices, patient shielding skills, and knowledge of applicable exposure factors to minimize radiation to patients and staff 
• Uses personal protective equipment including lead aprons as required 
• Properly operates, mobilizes, and positions equipment 
• Sets up and uses appropriate techniques and protocols as indicated 
• Responsible for the safe operation of radiologic equipment 
• Cleans equipment and stocks procedure rooms as needed
• Troubleshoots equipment problems and advises supervisor of equipment malfunctions 
• Other duties as assigned
