Job Title: Buyer
Location: Duluth, MN.
Contract Duration: 3+ months.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Buyer with a minimum of 3 years in the aerospace industry to support purchasing and procurement functions on a short-term contract. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain principles, excellent negotiation skills, and a keen attention to detail. This role will focus on sourcing, negotiating, and ensuring timely delivery of materials and components in alignment with production schedules and quality standards.

Responsibilities:
  • Source and procure aerospace materials, components, and services, ensuring compliance with company and industry standards.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers to optimize cost and meet quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (production, engineering, quality assurance) to forecast demand and ensure on-time procurement.
  • Monitor and manage supplier performance, addressing issues related to quality, delivery, and pricing.
  • Maintain accurate records of orders, contracts, and supplier interactions within ERP/MRP systems.
  • Evaluate and select new suppliers as needed to support production needs and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant aerospace regulations and company policies.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of 3 years of purchasing/procurement experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of aerospace regulations and quality standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certifications in procurement or supply chain management, such as CPM or CPSM.

Contract Terms:

This is a temporary contract position with potential for extension based on project needs and performance.
