Reports to: Marketing Director Summary:Well-established restaurant group looking for a talented Junior Graphic Designer to join our marketing team. In this role, you will help to create static graphics, animations, videos, and other multimedia content. This role is a key member of the marketing team, an eager collaborator who is brand- and hospitality-minded when creating all content across BRG’s corporate and property websites, all programs and promotions, social media, in-house + event menus, sales + display materials, emails, internal communications, and more.  They will be proactive, hands-on, and detailed. Own projects from ideation through to execution, and work in a fast-paced environment. We need a creative problem solver who can bring ideas to life in an engaging and dynamic way, and with an elevated aesthetic. Ability to thrive in collaboration, while also embracing ownership and autonomy as the team’s primary creative resource.

Candidates should be familiar with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator. This is an entry-level, full-time role that may grow into a full-time opportunity with the right candidate. The Junior Graphic Designer will work under the direction of the Marketing Director, will demonstrate creativity, up-to-date knowledge of industry software, and a professional approach to feedback, time, costs, and deadlines. Specifics:
  • 2-5 years’ experience working a strong portfolio. Design Portfolio required with application.
  • Knowledge of design development and best practices with a sharp eye for detail, composition, hierarchy, color, style, and an elevated aesthetic. 
  • Ability to generate concepts to creatively solve a marketing or sales challenge through multiple channels including print, digital, web, events, and social.
  • Proven skills in traditional and print material development. Knowledge of printing, file prep, and colors (PMS / RGB and CMYK).
  • Ability to create multiple elements within a campaign that marry within one concept.
  • Gathers assets needed to accomplish tasks and manages through an organized network system.
  • Menu design and management from creation of menu to transfer of menu into multiple formats.
  • Type design and development including logo design.
  • Photography with editing and retouching skills, utilizing Photoshop or similar editing platform.
  • Understanding of WordPress layout and knowledge of development and page implementation.
  • Social media asset development; knowledge of social media advertising best practices, creative execution of assets, layering of type, animated graphics.
  • Animation and GIF creation.
  • Creative, fresh email design skill with knowledge of creative development and deployment to entice click through, landing page layout, and email creative best practices, using MyEmma.
  • Knowledge and understanding of website wireframes and navigation.
  • Able to give and receive constructive criticism and adjust designs / copy accordingly.
  • Proofreads to ensure accurate, high-quality work.
  • Works with external vendors to ensure quality and timely delivery of all print products, maintaining inventory at restaurant level. 
  • Full understanding of branding including brand voice; always following best practices to ensure projects adhere to brand and industry standards.
  • Actively follow global retail trends and be proactive in contributing fresh ideas that help drive consumer engagement.
 Background, Skills, Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design with a minimum of 2-5 years’ experience working a strong portfolio. 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator), with working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and the desire to learn new software, if needed, to accomplish projects. 
  • Technical skills to create and release production files, including scale, color-work, and printing considerations, accompanied by a fluent design sense in a Mac environment.
  • Fluency of design for both digital and print production, including signage and packaging.
  • Working knowledge of WordPress with an understanding of CSS, HTML, and Web Design principles.
  • Strong retouching skills.
  • Current with design and industry trends for graphic design, typography standards, and software.
  • Skilled in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects or Adobe Rush, etc.).
  • Outstanding multitasking and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience designing for various media channels (Canva a plus).
  • Passion and intellectual curiosity around emerging technologies, social trends, and content marketing.
 Compensation Benefits:
  • Part-Time Hourly.
  • 16-24 Hours Weekly (Monday, Wednesday, Thursday* [as needed]).
  • 8 Hour Daily Shift with 30-Minute Lunch.
  • In-Office, No Remote.
  • $23-$28 / Hour.
