Assistant Teacher

Responsibilities:
- Work cooperatively with the lead teacher to implement the center's camp curriculum & create an immersive experience.
- Help create a safe & stimulating environment for children.
- Monitor and engage with children during playtime, meals & other daily routines.
- Provide individual & group support to children as needed.
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development & progress.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of child development & age-appropriate teaching strategies.
- Strong communication & interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Must be patient, nurturing & able to create a positive learning environment.
Skills Required:
- 2 years of experience in early childcare, childcare, education, or related experience.
- Must be able to lift to 40lbs., see, hear & sit on the floor with children.
- To pass state and federal & child abuse background checks.
- To be 18 years or older & legally able to work in the United States.
This is a SUMMER position, starting the week of June 3rd through August 24th. For candidates with an Early Learning or Elementary Ed. or Children & Families degree and multiple years of experience, pay ranges from two years of experience working with children but no higher degree salary range is $15.50-$17.50 per hour (based on level of experience & education) Bright Light Academy is open five days a week, but staff work a FOUR-DAY WORK WEEK.
