GENERAL RESPONSIBILITY - (state briefly the principal functions of this position)

Maintain customer quality requirements and specifications, while continually improving process (CIP)

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:(list the major tasks which the incumbent is required to perform)
  • Maintain and encourage a safe working environment and good housekeeping.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to perform quality checks on product and communication any quality issues to Supervisors, associates, and Quality Department.
  • Must be self-motivated, levelheaded and a confident decision maker (reject/accept).
  • Must have extensive knowledge of product configuration and options within assigned areas..
  • Ability to read and interpret part and assembly blueprints/drawings, bill of materials and work instructions. Use various measuring devices and gauges.
  • Performs and documents scheduled product and quality system’s audits.
  • Engages area supervisors and operators making sure control plans and product audits are performed and documentation is up to date.
  • Implements containment actions to correct quality problems and prevent their recurrence.
  • Works with MEIE and Manufacturing to assure processes are capable of producing required output.

QUALITY AWARENESS:
  • Work in conjunction with DBG’s quality objectives and understand how poor-quality affects DBG, our customers and the end user of our product.

EDUCATION REQUIRED:(type and amount of formal schooling necessary to perform job duties)
  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:(type and amount of previous work experience necessary to perform job duties)
  • Ability to read, write, and relate the meaning of written instructions to practical application.
  • Have basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Familiarity with FMVSS is a plus.
  • Previous experience in quality inspections.

RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHERS: (describe briefly the requirements of this position for dealing with or influencing others inside and/or outside of the company)
  • Must work well as a Team Member.
  • Must work closely with Team Leaders, Production Manager and other departments.
COMPLEXITY OF TASKS: (describe the extent to which duties are standardized, the judgment and planning required, the types of decisions made, and the degree to which the incumbent is free to take independent action)
  • Duties are pre-determined; however, incumbent may realize different options and must be willing to discuss these with the appropriate people/channels.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY (indicate specific positions which report to this position either directly or through subordinate supervisors)N/ANote any significant job characteristics not covered in previous items (i.e. travel requirements, use of equipment, etc.)
  • Moderate physical effort may be required consisting of lifting, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling of heavy material.
  • Ability to withstand a minimum of 10 hours on a concrete surface.
  • Lift a maximum of 40 lbs using proper lifting techniques.
