Job description:St. John the Baptist has an excellent part-time opportunity for a nurturing, caring, positive individual who loves working with infants and toddlers as part of a positive and supportive team. The primary responsibility is to keep the children happy, busy, and safe in a nurturing, Christian environment.

Shift available:
Monday - Friday / 2:00 - 6:00 PM

Duties:
  • Assist in planning and supervising activities that promote the social, mental, physical, emotional and educational development of the children.
  • Maintain and monitor children to provide a safe and positive learning environment.
  • Feeding and providing age-appropriate rest-times
  • Keeping records of each child’s progress, interests, and development.
  • Maintaining contact with the children’s parents/guardians
  • Ensure the children maintain good hygiene and change diapers.
  • Clean the childcare room to maintain a safe, orderly, and sanitary environment.
  • Reports to the child care director.
Essential Skills:
  • Good oral and written communication
  • Problem-Solving
  • Working With Others
  • A caring and compassionate attitude is a must
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Child care experience preferred
  • Must possess valid CPR and First Aid certifications or be willing to possess
  • Ability to pass a background check
ADA Physical Requirements:
  • The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods; use hands; reach with hands and arms.
  • Close vision is required for paperwork and computer.
  • Able to utilize computer keyboard, monitor, and telephone.
  • This role classroom-type environment which may require the employee to bend and lift 40 pounds.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 20 per week
