Host/Hostess

Carmello's is looking for a fun, personable, energetic Host/Hostess for our patio/bar/bistro Monza and for Carmello's. Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays. Only serious applicants need to apply in person between the hours of 2:30PM-4:30PM Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 9405 Battle Street, Manassas, VA, 20110.

Duties:

• Being the guests' first and last great impression by professionally welcoming guests with a smile and enthusiasm upon their arrival and thanking them on their departure.
• Proficiency in the OpenTable reservation system is a plus.  Must be able to take reservations, assign servers to tables, etc.
• Answering the phone using the proper procedures.
• Determining the level of business to determining whether guests can dine that do not have reservations "walk-ins".
• Maintaining cleanliness of foyer and host stand at all times.
• Maintaining restroom checks.
• Informing the kitchen and management of any unexpected large parties or any problems in general.
• Checking the guest's coat during colder months.
• Re-staging tables before guests sit down with polished silverware in correct spots, menus, telling them about any specials there may be.
• Adhering to strict dress code regulations.

Requirements:

• Restaurant experience is preferred but not required.
• Must be able to work in hot and cold environments.
• Must be punctual and reliable.
• Must be able to follow directions.
• Must be able to work weekends, nights, and holidays.

Monza is a sister restaurant established around 12 years ago - a casual bar and restaurant adjacent to Carmello's that specializes in Italian classic cuisine, wood-fired pizza, Saturday and Sunday brunch foods, craft cocktails and beer.
