General Purpose of the Position:  The primary responsibility will be the general organization, preservation, and cleanliness of the facilities with an emphasis on customer space. Main areas of responsibility will include but are not limited to: customer and employee common areas, data floor, exterior of the building, and around the perimeter, all pertaining to aesthetics. This individual will work with the team of fellow technicians to meet all goals of keeping facilities organized, clean, and ready for tours and daily use. This individual must display good communication skills with the team, management, and customers. Candidate must display the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to recognize a standard and meet or exceed it. 


 Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • General facility upkeep/maintenance which may entail: 
  • Floor repair such as carpet, VCT & Gerflor tiles 
  • Wall repair/ patching, texturing & painting. 
  • Repairing damaged baseboards and corner guards 
  • Bulb replacements inside and outside T-SCIFs 
  • Maintaining the Switch standard in all areas 
  • Materials handling and installation 
  • Facility set-up (Client cage) per defined company standards 
  • Perform regular cage audits of existing clients 
  • Help maintain and monitor the facility's cleanliness 
  • Maintain T-SCIF cleanliness and organization of defined space 
  • Communicate with the warehouse and coordinate stock deliveries 
  • Use of basic warehouse equipment ( pallet jack, forklift ) 
  • May at times assist with Facility Maintenance tasks 
Required Job Skills: 
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to identify items that do not meet a set standard. M
  • mechanical aptitude is also a desired skill. 
  • This experience may be acquired via educational background or previous hands-on experience from a skilled trade. 
  • Must also demonstrate excellent verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; the ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively with personnel associated with the data center environment; the ability to analyze and make suggestions for problem resolution. 
  • Must also have an understanding of safety requirements related to the construction field. 
  • Must be able to climb ladders, bend, and lift a minimum of 50lbs. 
  • Must have experience with the organization and spatial layout 
  • Must have a demonstrated ability for dimensional measurement 
  • This job description supersedes any and all other descriptions used prior to the date of modification. 
  • Must be able to read and understand schematics related to space layout. 
  • Must have excellent attention to detail, presentation, and customer service skills 
  • Ability to solve problems with good initiative and sound judgment 
  • Must demonstrate excellent time management and the ability to work alone or with team members. 
Education and Experience: 
  • Minimum 2 years experience in production, facilities, mechanical maintenance or relevant field experience. 
  • High School diploma or equivalent 
  • The data center is 24 hours/7-day operation. This position requires the ability to work effectively under pressure multi-task and supervise multiple projects simultaneously. This person may be required to work extended hours during peak work periods.
