SUMMARYThe Refund Specialist role is a full-time position responsible for overseeing the Refund request process and ensuring all procedures for refunds are completed timely with expected quality. Successful candidate will possess outstanding communication abilities, detailed oriented, self-motivated cash application specialist with healthcare/medical payment posting experience.

This position typically reports to the Payment Posting Supervisor and Manager.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Understands billing aspects such as billed amount, allowed amount, deductibles, co-insurance and co-payments.
• Experience with Medicare billing process and Hospice guidelines for billing.
• Communicates with payers via phone or email to gather additional information needed to process requested refund.
• Working on refund request received from Payers. Example to validate, appeal any inappropriate request.
• Demonstrates team player qualities to promote a positive working environment.
• Performs and assists with other department duties as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• 5 years of Payment Posting Experience
• 5 years of Refund Experience
• At least 5 years progressive professional experience in revenue cycle
• Excellent communication, analytical skills and attention to detail required
• Proficient in Refunds process
• Knowledge of payment portals, insurance portals.
• Critical Thinking Skills

Pay: From $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

• 8 hour shift
• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
