General Laborer

Summary:

• Metalico - Jamestown.
• General Laborer • Full-time.
• 5338 Route 474 Ashville NY 14710.
• REPORTS TO: Yard Manager.
• COMPENSATION: Commensurate with experience ranging from $16-$20 per hour.
• EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time – 40 hours/week.

WORK SCHEDULE:

• Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 4:30 pm.
• Saturday as needed 8:00 am – 12:00 pm.

JOB OVERVIEW:Scrap Metal Yard located in Ashville NY, seeks a General Laborer to handle day-to-day tasks.
These responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

• Material purchase entries, including weighing trucks in/out, verifying accounts/prices.
• Creating and maintaining all outbound documents.
• Clerical and administrative support including filing.
• Communicate with yard personnel using a 2-way radio.
• Assist with yard projects as assigned.
• Sorting various metals by grade and preparing outbound loads.
• Move material using various forms of heavy equipment.
• Provide excellent customer service.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Drivers’ License.
• Strong attention to detail as well as an efficient, hardworking, and dependable attitude.
• Computer aptitude. (Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook)
• Ability to work with little or no supervision, are flexible, and a team player.
• Detail Oriented.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions.
• Ability to Operate Heavy Equipment/Forklift Helpful.
