Position Title: Vascular Surgeon

Job Summary:

City Surgical Care, PC is currently looking for a skilled and reliable vascular surgeon to join our practice. The vascular surgeon’s responsibilities will include diagnosing and treating conditions of the vascular system such as performing diagnostic and therapeutic venograms, deep vein thrombosis, varicosities and repair of damaged blood vessels.

As a vascular surgeon, you must have an in-depth understanding of the vascular system, possess excellent diagnostic skills, be highly analytical, detail-oriented, and be able to make important decisions under pressure.

 Responsibilities:
  • Performing patient history and physicals
  • Scheduling consultations prior to elective surgeries
  • Liaising with other physicians and performing the relevant tests before the surgery
  • Performing surgeries to repair veins and arteries and other vascular anomalies
  • Consulting with physicians and referring patients to other specialists if required
  • Determining all risks associated with the surgery and communicating them to the patient
  • Addressing all patient clinical concerns
  • Keeping up to date on advancements in vascular surgery
  • Scheduling follow-ups to monitor patients’ progress and to advise them accordingly
  • Supervise Physician Assistants and other licensed medical personnel
  • Building professional relationships with the organization’s Governing Body, staff members and patients

Qualifications:
  • Possess a current NY State MD license
  • Completed an approved fellowship program in vascular surgery
  • Board Certification is required
  • Possess a current DEA license
  • Insured by a recognized medical malpractice insured for the limits required by the practice
  • Possess current American Heart Association ACLS and BLS
  • Possess problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Possess a good command of the English language, both verbal and written.
  • Has the ability to follow instructions, but also think independently
  • May be exposed to communicable diseases
  • Knowledge on the use of ultrasound, c-arm and VNUS systems
  • Dedication to excellence in the field of Vascular Surgery
