The Sr. Quality Engineer is a professional level position, reporting to the Quality Manager. Sr. Quality Engineer will establish, implement, direct, and maintain quality assurance and procedures throughout the various stages of manufacturing to assure a finished product with the highest quality possible while keeping material scrap at a minimum. The person will work with associates at all levels of the organization to continuously improve our quality system and develop plant performance. In addition, this person is responsible for supporting the plant's QMS and other management systems and provides direct contact with customers, UL and other regulatory agency representatives as required.
Principal Functional Responsibilities:
- Establish electrical test and measuring system to ensure validity and quality of all applicable cables, throughout the manufacturing process.
- Develop routine inspection and test procedures
- Develop and maintain effective systems to achieve plant objectives.
- Maintain orderly records to demonstrate compliance with specifications.
- Development and implementation of appropriate sampling and/or control methods as needed to assure desired product quality levels. Lead corrective actions as needed.
- Investigate returned materials due to quality complaints and ensure that the necessary corrective action is initiated and implemented to prevent recurrence.
- Develop and maintain a system for the effective management of nonconforming material documentation and report metrics to comply with plant and company requirements.
- Develop and communicate effective quality performance metrics throughout the organization.
- Direct and lead cross functional teams to effectively deliver improvement projects.
- Identify adverse quality trends as evidenced by statistical analysis and assist process engineering and/or manufacturing personnel in the development of corrective actions.
- Support plant efforts to maintain and conform to plant quality standards.
- Facilitate customer and regulatory agency inspections.
- Provide support to other departments in their pursuit of improved processes.
- Support system audits throughout NA As a Lead Auditor.
- Perform related duties as directed by the Manager.
Supervision Scope:
- Responsible for effectively managing cross-functional relationships with other departments to achieve the highest possible level of quality of products produced.

- Must be able to manage multiple, complex tasks and deal easily with pressure on a day in and day out basis.
- Proven experience in quality assurance systems.
- Must be able to motivate, communicate and drive continuous improvement.
- Critical thinker, with excellent analytical abilities.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Solid planning, leadership and administrative skills.
- High energy demonstrates urgency and fast pace.
- Good understanding of business principles and practices; can understand the impact of quality function on overall business results.
Qualifications:
- BS degree in engineering or degree in a related field with practical science experience
- 5 years of manufacturing experience (quality assurance); able to understand appropriate product specifications.
- Comfortable with a variety of software systems, including spreadsheets and database systems.
- Experience in Root Cause analysis, corrective actions, Lean/Six Sigma (certification preferred),
- Experience with ISO, SPC tools and other standard quality systems.
- Leadership experience in a team-based environment
- Electrical products or Wire & Cable experience is a plus.
- ASQ certification is a plus.
