About This OpportunityResponsibilities:JOB SUMMARY:
  • A Category Manager, Fresh Foods, (CM) will support the Senior Category Manager and Product Director with meeting and exceeding category and company goals. 
  • The Category Manager will be responsible for development of category strategy along with the associated efforts to support the strategy, including assortment planning/optimization and promotional strategy planning. 
  • The Category manager will lead specific categories and will be directly responsible for the financial results against budget along with longer range category growth planning. (3-5 year plans)
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:The CM will be responsible for following key activities:
  • Managing Category performance against budget in terms of Sales, Units and Margin as well as providing insights into these data points.
  • Taking key learnings from outperforming areas to be employed in underperforming areas.
  • Identifying and action planning against key areas underperforming
  • Ownership of the Category Strategy to ensure a comprehensive category strategy is in place to meet the customer’s needs and expectations as well as a plan that will meet or exceed the company’s goals.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with Suppliers and Vendors that will facilitate partnerships to provide customers with consistent product quality, availability and value.
  • Champions cost leadership efforts across vendors, working to achieve the best cost possible for items in the delegated category
  • Develop, manage and communicate sales plans for delegated categories and support additional categories as requested to support Senior CM in development of overall category sales plans.
  • Promotional campaigns for sales planning periods should leverage consumers’ insights and be in collaboration with marketing. 
  • Oversight of sales planning entries to ensure accurate and timely maintenance of the Sales Planning key activities along with forecasting for new items, focus items and sales plan items to aid in securing the proper inventory levels across the store base.
  • Assortment planning and optimization - Leveraging market and consumer trends to ensure our product offering is catering to the wants and needs of our customers.
  • Works collaboratively with Product Development team to capitalize on customer trends and capturing white space opportunities for delegated categories.
  • Participates in broader project planning and review of program expansions to ensure capital is being allocated in an efficient manner.
  • Leads coordination of 7-Eleven Experience vendor sponsorships, samplings and other national or regional events
Qualifications:
  • EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • EDUCATION: Bachelors/4 Yr Degree
  • YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE: 3+ years
  • YEARS OF MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE: 2+ years

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Proficient to advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
