CAM Innovation is looking for a full-time machinist/operator with 3-5 years on hands-on experience in a machine shop.  The ideal candidate will have experience in set-up, program editing, tool set-up, and machine machining.  Proficiency in CNC machining and Mastercam is a plus.  We offer competitive wages and benefits based on your experience and education.  You should be well-rounded, capable of efficiently handling task such as sawing, deburring, milling, turning, and grinding with minimal supervision. Job Summary: Machinists are skilled professionals who operate a range of machine tools such as milling machines and lathes. Their primary function is to create precise parts for machines and tools, using a combination of manual and automated equipment to achieve exact measurements. Their aim is to ensure that production operations are effective and efficient.   • Define and document job setup requirements.
  • Determine proper job sequences, tools, fixtures, feeds and speeds.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Provide their own basic shop tools and steel toe shoes.
  • Preform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.
  • Inspects work against drawings before handing off.
 Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Proficient knowledge of mircometers, calipers, indicators, and standard inspection equipment.
  • Experience in using manual machines (lathes, grinders, etc).
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics and manuals.
  • Good math and written communication skills.
  • Efficient time management skills.
  • Availability to work occasional overtime including weekends, public holidays and evenings.
  • Organizational and communication skills to work with a small team.
  Preferred Skills/Abilities:
  • Some experience in programming semi-automated or automated machines (lathes, grinders, etc).   Experience with Hass CNC controls a plus.
  • Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) forklift certification is an advantage.
 Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role.
 Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50-75 pounds at a time.
  • Must wear safety gear, glasses and shoes, when handling box cutters or similar tools.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and performing repetitive tasks for most of the work day.
  • Must have manual dexterity in order to assemble products or machines as directed.
  • Must have excellent hand-eye coordination.
