A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ASSISTANT RESTAURANT MANAGER:
As our Assistant Restaurant Manager, you oversee daily operations to ensure high-quality food service, excellent customer satisfaction, and efficient workflow all while in compliance with required regulations. Through established policies and procedures, you tackle administrative duties including inventory control and supply requisition. With restaurant needs and labor cost objectives in mind, you forecast work schedules. Being proactive, you arrange for outside services for repairs and maintenance to ensure proper working order of equipment. You prepare payroll as well as the required cash-handling and end-of-day reconciliation paperwork. Additionally, you schedule events and negotiate the necessary details. Your desire for cleanliness and efficiency ensures that your food service team is following established procedures for an attractive restaurant appearance, sanitation, and preventative maintenance. As you collaborate with food service team members, you discuss menu planning and establish efficient workflows for courses. To ensure quality and consistency, procedures are implemented for ingredient usage, food portions, production sequencing, and workstation arrangements. In this management capacity, you promote a positive and productive work environment. Beginning with hiring, through onboarding, into training, and beyond, you are a consistent and encouraging mentor who provides opportunities for growth, including performance improvement based on performance appraisals, job training, and other personal and professional development. Additionally, you step up and tackle the hard things such as creating procedures to alleviate workplace issues, including product waste and employee theft. You perform disciplinary write-ups and employee terminations as needed. The highlight of your shift is customer interaction. You oversee that excellent customer service is being provided by your food service staff. As needed, you step in to assist. You enjoy working side-by-side with your team. Whether food prep, greeting and seating, food service, or bill presentation, you eagerly step in when needed ensuring guest service standards and efficient operations. Through your hard work and dedication in this management role, you leave each day knowing your efforts contributed to successfully achieving company service, financial, and growth objectives - as well as creating memorable experiences for both your food service team and valued customers.

ASSISTANT RESTAURANT MANAGER QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 1+ years of experience in restaurant management
  • Food Handler's permit
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position
  • Computer and tech-savvy
  • Proficient in restaurant and accounting software
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office Suite
