The material handler will be responsible for storing and issuing of packaging materials to and from the production line. This person must have good organizational and communication skills. The primary duties of the material handler will be carried out in a warehouse manufacturing facility.  Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Labels and stores all materials in the correct storage areas.
  • Coordinates activities of transferring materials.
  • Must be able to lift 25-50lbs, regularly.
  • Understand inventory control principals.
  • Knows warehouse functions (inventory, receiving, staging, and prepping).
  • Understand and implement lean practices and demand flow strategies.
  • Has strong math skills.
  • Demonstrates a willingness to learn new tasks.
  • Removes trash from production area and places in dumpster.
  • Locates items strategically to reduce wasted motion and maximize space utilization.
 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
 CERTIFICATIONS, AND LICENSES: 
  • Forklift Certification preferred (ability to re-certify with employer).
  • A valid driver’s license preferred.
 PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
