Adelphi is seeking a Psychiatrist to provide services at a facility in Milford, Delaware. Requirements:
  • Delaware license or eligibility for a Delaware license 
  • BC in internal medicine, geriatrics, or family practice
  • BLS/ACLS Certification
  • DEA Certificate
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Experience in a long-term care facility or similar setting.
  • Meet federal and state eligibility requirements to participate in VA, Medicaid, and Medicare
 
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate psychiatric care in the facility and provide clinical guidance and oversight regarding the implementation of resident care policies.
  • Collaborate with facility leadership, staff, and other practitioners to help develop and implement resident care policies that reflect current standards of practice.
  • Provide necessary psychiatric treatment to clients including an initial assessment to determine the diagnosis and need for treatment.
  • Coordinate and facilitate the use of ancillary services such as the laboratory.
  • Develop mechanisms for communicating and resolving issues related to psychiatric care.
  • Help the facility ensure residents have primary attending and backup psychiatric coverage.
  • Review of the resident’s overall condition and program of care at each visit, including medications and treatments.
  • Provide leadership during a mental health emergency and technical support to staff when needed.
  • Coordinate and evaluate the medical care within the facility by reviewing and evaluating aspects of physician care and practitioner services.
  • Ensure that other licensed practitioners who may perform psychiatric-delegated tasks act within the regulatory requirements and within the scope of practices as defined by Delaware State law.
