Florida Palms Academy is on a mission to make a difference in the lives of children and adolescents ages 6-14 who need specialized psychiatric residential treatment. We're looking for a dedicated Therapist to join our Statewide Inpatient Psychiatric Program (SIPP) at our Hollywood, Florida location. Key Responsibilities:As a Licensed Therapist at Florida Palms Academy, you’ll be at the heart of each child’s journey, providing essential therapeutic support. In this role, you will:
  • Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy for children and adolescents
  • Develop comprehensive initial treatment plans tailored to each child's needs
  • Document progress weekly, keeping thorough and detailed case notes
  • Conduct regular treatment plan reviews and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
  • Participate in weekly team meetings, professional training sessions, and ongoing consultations with our program psychiatrist

What You Bring:We’re seeking someone with deep knowledge and expertise in child and family development, family systems theory, crisis intervention, and therapeutic practices like CBT, trauma-focused therapy, and play therapy. Our ideal candidate is compassionate, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator, with a strong ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.

Requirements:
  • Florida License: LMHC, LCSW, LMFT, or Registered Florida Intern
  • Education: Master’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field
  • Experience: Working with children, adolescents, and families; understanding of trauma and various mental health diagnoses; knowledge of the foster care system
