About the Job- Pediatric LPN or MA

Austintown Pediatrics is looking for a part-time (2-3 days/week) Pediatric LPN or MA to rotate between the Nurse's Station/clinical support and the Front Desk/Medical Reception. Shifts cover our office hours, which are 8-5 Monday through Friday and 8-4 over the summer. Enjoy a better work-life balance without any night or weekend shifts, plus get paid time off on all the major holidays. Responsibilities:
  • Record a patient’s medical history accurately.
  • Take and record measurements of height, weight, blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.
  • Administer injections, aerosol treatments and medications as ordered.
  • Perform diagnostic testing as ordered and record results accurately.
  • Communicate with patients’ family to provide results, instructions, advice and relay information to practitioners in a timely manner.
  • Patient check in/check out.
  • Answering phone calls.
  • Scheduling and sending messages to providers as needed.
  • Entering patient demographics.
  • Maintain and update patient health records.
  • Collect copays.
  • Complete patient forms, referrals, and appointment tasks.
  • Pull patient forms for next business day.
  • Prior Authorizations.
  • Communicate with hospitals, specialty departments and other provider offices for patient related information.
  • Prepare medical records as needed.
  • Checking faxes throughout the day.

Requirements and Skills:
  • Strong desire to work with pediatric demographic and maintain upbeat, encouraging demeanor.
  • Ability to undertake a variety of care tasks and prioritize efficiently.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Understanding of confidentiality obligations and nursing best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent computer and typing skills
  • Successful completion of LPN license or MA certification program is a must.
  • Willingness to learn new skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work and communicate with fellow staff members

Job Type: Part-timeExpected Hours: 18-30 per week

Pay:
MA $16.00-$17.50
LPN $18.00-$19.00
