SUMMARY: 
The Cashier is the principal recipient of cash and credit card payments for merchandise sold to customers of the Fabulous Finds Thrift Store. This position will operate the register in providing clothing, household goods and furniture to needy individuals and families of Charlotte County, and with proceeds from sales of the remaining merchandise it receives through donations from the public, the Thrift Store defrays operating expenses to fund other programs of the Organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet customers as they enter the store and again when they are ready to check out
  • Keep display cases stocked and orderly
  • Answer telephones and direct calls to appropriate parties
  • Ring individual items on the cash register, accept payment, and make proper change
  • Accurately fill out credit cards which must be accompanied by a picture ID.
  • Provide a receipt to every customer and bag their purchases
  • Assist customers with directions to various "departments" and answer their questions.
  • Keep register closed and locked when not recording a sale
  • Maintain a clean, neat work area and sales floor. 
  • Assist with stocking priced items. 
  • Maintain clean dressing rooms as well as return items to racks.
  • Help enforce all store policies while keeping in mind our mission.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Comply with all applicable training requirements
  • Comply with all company safety, personnel and operational policies and procedures
  • Comply with work schedule to ensure effective operations of Agency programs
  • Contribute positively as a member of a productive and cooperative team

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

GENERAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
