Primary Purpose:
  • Help meet the physical and instructional needs of individual students with disabilities inside and outside the classroom.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEP), including self-help, behavior management, and instruction programs.
  • Work under the general supervision of a principal and immediate direction of a certified teacher.
Qualifications:Education/Certification:
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Texas educational aide certificate or willing to obtain a certificate
 Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Ability to work with children with disabilities.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • SAMA certification (or able to obtain after hire).
 Experience:
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with children.
