Certified Medical Coding Specialist

Altheda Medical Center offers multi-specialty medical services on a mission to provide high-quality and easily accessible care. Our starting focused offerings are consisted of primary care, special medical exams, occupational health, behavioral health, wellness and aesthetics. Our tech-integrated and patient-centered focus aims to redefine the traditional healthcare delivery standards practiced in conventional outpatient settings.

We are looking for a Certified Medical Coding Specialist to help us streamline our RCM billing cycle as we strive to provide better-coordinated care management for patients. 

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate Coding and data entry of patient billing information
  • Assist with the follow-up of A/R, including self-pay and/or the resolution of denials
  • Provide assistance to staff and patients regarding billing issues and problem resolution in a courteous and timely manner
  • Participate in development of organization procedures and update of forms and manuals related to the revenue cycle
  • Run and analyze assigned reports to ensure completion and accuracy of billing processes
  • Collaborate with billing team in the planning, implementation, administration, and evaluation of projects to increase/improve billing processes
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid/Commercial Insurers and other program updates including ICD-10/CPT and HIPAA
  • Perform other necessary duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • The ideal candidate will have integrity, be well versed in insurance rules and regulations, able to work remotely in a very collaborative team environment, be adaptable, and pay great attention to detail
  • A minimum of 5 years of medical billing/coding/AR experience in physician-based office required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, including writing/speaking/active listening
