Duties:
  • Individual hired will work in a busy, fast paced laboratory, working with patient specimens for Flow Cytometry.
  • The laboratory routinely performs Leukemia and Lymphoma Immunophenotyping on various sample types, immunodeficiency testing, Fetal Hemoglobin testing, PNH testing and clinical trial samples.
  • The laboratory is also responsible for HPV and CT/NG testing on a Cobas 5800. 
  • Must be detail-oriented and flexible with ability to multi-task and work in a team-oriented environment. Individual should have experience in general laboratory practice, including handling specimens. 
  • Must have excellent communication skills (telephone, written and verbal) and also the ability to work well independently.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in science or related field to meet the requirements for high-complexity testing.
  • Medical Laboratory Science degree preferred. 
  • Must qualify to perform high complexity testing under CLIA (minimum requirement is 24 semester hours of science courses that include 6 hours of chemistry, 6 of biology, and 12 of any combination of chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology).
  • Flow cytometry experience valuable but not required. 
  • Sufficient knowledge of cell biology, and the mathematics, statistics, computer hardware and software involved to operate the system and analyze the data
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
